

1. The league shall be run by the league fixture secretary and league treasurer in the absence of a chairman and committee members.
2. The entrance fee shall be £2 per person, plus a registration fee of £12 per team. A guarantee of £10 will also be made to the league and will be refunded when a team drops out of the league at the end of the season.
3. There will be a summer league consisting of a minimum of 4 players (a player can play in all disciplines). The format will be 1001 x 4 players over 1 leg, two doubles 501 x 2 players (best of 3 legs) and four singles 501 (best of 3 legs). Playing for 7 points.
4. In the event of a tie on points, positions will be determined in order of most wins and then leg count, if teams are still tied after these are checked then a play-off will take place at the end of the season, with a neutral venue to be decided by the league fixture secretary and treasurer. This also applies for winter seasons.
5. There will be a winter league consisting of a minimum 5 players (a player can play in a maximum of 2 disciplines). The format will be 1001 x 3 players over 1 leg, one doubles 501 x 2 players (best of 3 legs) and five singles 501 (best of 3 legs). Playing for 7 points.
6. Any new teams joining our league will be ‘vetted’ by the league fixture secretary and league treasurer before being placed in the appropriate league section.
7. There will be no toss of a coin to start the game, as the away team will throw first and then every other game. The away team to throw first in the last game. The team that throws first in the first leg will throw first in the third and deciding leg.
8. All games are straight off, with a double or the bull to finish the game.
9. The throw shall be of 7ft 9 ¼ins (2.37m) to the front of the oche, and the height of the board from the floor shall be 5ft 8ins (1.73m) from the centre of the bull’s eye. The diagonal distance from the centre of the bull to the oche shall be 9ft 7 ½ins (2.93m). These measurements shall conform to B.D.O. rules and the dart boards shall be checked by league officials. Non-conformities must be corrected before matches are allowed to be played (Agreed at 10th June 2009 AGM).
10. All matches shall try to commence by 8.15pm. Any failure to agree by the two teams over the start time will result in the home side filling in the match card and sending to the league fixture secretary. There may be a fine of £3.00 and the game re-arranged by the league officials.
11. The home team are to supply the marker and the away team the checker. The checker shall tell the thrower what is scored, or what is left if asked by the thrower. Only a competent person shall use the ‘electronic scoreboard’ if one is used, otherwise a blackboard or marker board shall be used (11th May 2011 AGM).
12. Match cards are to be sent to the league fixture secretary by the winning team and are to arrive no later than the following Wednesday. Any team failing to do so may be fined £3.00.
13. Players may register and play on the same night, provided the match card is forwarded to the league fixture secretary or league treasurer with the player’s signature and monies.
14. Registered players may only play for one team, which they have registered with at the beginning of the season. Any team proved to have played an ineligible player will be fined £5.00 and shall forfeit all points from that game. This may also be accompanied by a player ban from the league for the rest of the season.
15. All teams must supply a current and valid e-mail address for communication of dart league information. This shall be provided on their registration forms along with a telephone number of the team captain/secretary and vice captain/secretary.
16. Protests together with a fee of £2.00 must be in the league fixture secretary’s possession within 7 days. If the protest is considered to be of a trivial nature or not sustained, the fee shall be absorbed into the league funds. All disputes are to be settled at the next committee meeting or AGM and the committee’s decision will be final. Teams failing to be represented when requested to attend a committee meeting to settle the dispute will be fined £5.00.
17. There are to be no cancellation of matches. Any team that cancels a match will receive an automatic three point deduction and will be fined £10.00 with the match to be played at the end of each half of the season or by the following Friday if both teams are available to play the match. The league fixture secretary must be informed about any changes.
18. Teams must give 24 hours notice of a cancellation of a fixture, if they cannot play the match (i.e.; transport problems or not enough players). The offending team will receive an automatic three point deduction and will be fined £10.00 (Agreed at 9th April 2014 AGM). If the same team offend more than twice then they may be excluded from the league for that season and will lose their guarantee of £10.00 (Agreed at November 2001 AGM).
19. There shall be ‘no food’ provided by the home dart team after matches (Agreed at 11th May 2011 AGM). Individual teams may provide food but this will be their preference. Teams shall not be compensated for food organised, if teams do not arrive for a match.
20. All trophies are the property of the Pontyclun & District Darts League, and must be placed in the ‘house’ or ‘club’ of the winning teams. They will be kept for one year, and then returned to the league on demand. Dart teams shall receive financial rewards for winning their sections, and for coming runners up. The monies awarded to all winners of their sections shall be the same as will the runners-up (Agreed at 11th May 2011 AGM).
21. Transfers – Any player of a disbanded team, or one who has not played for his/her registered team, can apply for a transfer. A registration fee will be required.
22. Any players, who score 180’s, highest outshots or least darts on the night, must enter the details on the match card. Names and scores must be written clearly, and in block capitals. 180’s, highest out’s and least darts are only valid for the current season, and any gained in competitions will not be counted.
23. Teams dropping out of the league during the season will have their match scores removed from the league tables. All points against them will be void.
24. Each summer and winter season shall be run as separate leagues with separate finances and AGM. There will be promotion and relegation in summer and winter leagues, and they will follow on from summer to summer and winter to winter (Agreed at 11th May 2011 AGM).
25. All competitions that are run shall be financed separately, and pay for themselves via entry fees or sponsorship. Venues for these competitions will be rotated, and determined by the league fixture secretary and league treasurer.
26. The honorariums at present are £30.00 each for the league fixture secretary/webmaster and league treasurer. The sums are only to be paid if there are sufficient league funds available.
27. Any proposed change to the rules must be submitted to the league fixture secretary 7 days prior to the season AGM. The changes will then be discussed and agreed at that meeting. All league meetings are to be kept to a minimum, with the exemption of the A.G.M’s.
28. Prize monies will be awarded to the winner(s) of the most 180's, highest out and for both the singles and pairs least darts (Agreed at 5th September 2012 A.G.M).
29. All website costs will be funded by the league (Agreed at 9th April 2014 AGM).
